Owners and first-time retailers Joan Sickler and Mike Rosow moved from New York State to Santa Fe and created a store that offers a strikingly unusual combination of American handmade woven jackets and scarves, blown glass, jewelry, and kaleidoscopes.

From the start, Purple Sage has been a place of beauty and fun. Visitors remark most often about two aspects of the store - the gorgeous colors and the caring, friendly people who work here. Our store, they say, is the most beautiful in town, especially the windows.

We go out of our way to individualize service. Nearly any item in the store can be special ordered to meet your special needs. A different color, shorter sleeves, roomier fit - all our weavers and knitters can make their pieces to your requirements. Likewise our glass blowers, jewelers, and kaleidoscope makers work with us to meet our customers' needs.

Purple Sage artists are exclusive to our store; their work is not available elsewhere in Santa Fe. We have worked with many of them for nearly 10 years. In turn they have recognized us as one of the top 100 craft retailers in the country for the past four years with the NICHE award of the Rosen Group's American Style magazine.

Community involvement is a cornerstone of our work. Local nonprofits know they can always count on Purple Sage to contribute to their fundraising efforts. Our New Mexican customers appreciate that and reward us with their loyalty. In turn Purple Sage offers a twice yearly sale exclusively for New Mexicans.

Purple Sage is a comfortable place where glass and fabric blend to best show their distinctive qualities. It's a place where the friends and partners of our customers can relax.
